Hull hotel to star on the telly Posted On 01 April 2021

The Hideout Hotel, which features on TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2020, will appear on Channel 4’s Four In a Bed

During the TV show, which will air on Thursday, April 1st, Hotel managers Jodie Richardson and Enya Donohoe will meet fellow B&B and hotel owners, who will judge the quality of The Hideout Hotel, as well as rate the service which they receive. This will lead to the judges paying the owners a sum of what they feel is acceptable, given their own experience.

The Hideout Hotel will be up against three hotels, with Richardson and Donahoe to visit and rate all three: Juniperlea Inn gastro pub at Blackshiels near Edinburgh, Starshinezzz farmhouse B&B at Trimdon Grange near Durham and Hideaway cabins and camping at Baxby Manor, near Thirsk.

And the managers might have reason to be optimistic about their fellow owners’ judgements. On TripAdvisor, the hotel has been rated ‘excellent’ on a whopping 98 out of 112 reviews. What’s more, is that the comments which travellers have left appear to be even more complimentary, with one labelling The Hideout Hotel ‘One of the best hotels in Britain! The Hideout is a long standing fave of ours. It never disappoints’.

And it’s no wonder that the hotel seems to be a firm favourite of its guests. The hotel’s ethos is on supporting Hull’s bars and restaurants, and the pair promise the ultimate home away from home. The hotel includes 15 self-catering apartments, which are decorated with ‘total love’, and feature a contemporary design.

When asked about the upcoming show, Jodie, was understandably cautious about what her fellow owners thought of the hotel. She said, ‘People will have to watch Four in a Bed to find out what was said about each property and our city – and that includes us because we think everybody was impressed with their time in Hull but we won’t know for sure until the show goes out’.

Jodie also went on to discuss the added benefit of experiencing other hotels from a customer and business point of view. She commented, ‘All the places we visited were very varied and all lovely destinations. It was great to see the other hotels and, from a business point of view, look at what they have to offer and how they operate’.
