Growing Superstore Wipes the Floor Posted On 08 January 2021

Business is booming for Flooring Superstore, as one of the UK’s fastest-growing companies opens up a new store in Huddersfield.

The retailer, which sells an unrivalled range of carpets, as well as a huge choice of other flooring, has invested £150,000 into its new 3,000 square foot store, located in the Castlegate Retail Park in Huddersfield.

The company only began opening stores back in 2017, and has been one of the few businesses which has been able to expand throughout the pandemic, opening nine stores since the beginning of 2020. When speaking about the success of the company, Flooring Superstore regional manager Greig Anderson acknowledged that, when all non-essential retail had to close during the first wave of the pandemic, ‘We were able to direct customers to our strong e-commerce platform, so it meant we were well positioned when our stores re-opened’.

This latest store, which will be formally opened on January 15th, now brings the tally up to 25 stores across the UK. This number makes the company one of the country’s fastest growing businesses in the retail sector as a whole.

Anderson also commented on his excitement about the location of this new addition, when stating, ‘We’re delighted to have been able to open a store in the town and at a busy retail park with so much footfall’. He spoke of the vast selection of flooring which the retailer offers to customers, saying, ‘We can offer people a one-stop-shop for all their flooring needs, so they can get everything under one roof, whether its carpet for the living room, vinyl for the kitchen and even artificial grass for the garden’.

Elsewhere, Flooring Superstore have also opened a new store in Doncaster, and combined with the Huddersfield store, have created six new jobs in the process.

The opening of the store in Huddersfield now means that the retailer has two in West Yorkshire, adding to the branch in Keighley. Anderson went on to express his awareness for supporting the local community, when discussing the company’s intentions to support local charities or organisations ‘With donations of flooring through our corporate social responsibility programme’.
